2. what does clay the motor.. check for clearance issues?
3. i wanna spray 75 shots of nitrous on ls motor. wet i want to read up on how its wired up and how it works, where do igo.. doesn't work on this section. let me know thanks guys.


would 75 shots hold on ls that has new valvetrains... would i need to do, rod bearings and definately piston rings.. let me know thansk

1. Shotpeening is the blasting of something with steel ***** of a controlled size at a controlled velocity. It cold-works the metal surface, refining the grain, making it stronger.

2. Claying refers to using clay on the valve reliefs on the piston and then installing the head and cams and turning the motor over by hand to determine how much piston-valve clearance you are working with.

3. You're on your own for this one. A 75 shot by an inexperienced person on a stock motor spells disaster. You probably want to ask this specific question in the FI forum.

 

how can u tell how much clearance... u than take head off and see if the valve touch the clay?

 

Pretty much. You can take a set of calipers and measure exactly how far into the clay the valve went.
