VAFC question!!!
I went in for a smog test today. I passed the Function Check and Emissions Test, but failed in the Visual Inspection.
I have to fix 2 things. A Fuel leak in the Fuel Rail, and the VAFC.
I ordered a new fuel rail, so that should be comming soon. The problem is the VAFC.
Now my question is... if I unplug the VAFC from my ECU, will it save the settings it has right now? Or will it go back to the initial settings??

it will be saved.. if you are skeptical about it. jot down all the settings and save it somewhere. and reenter it when are done with the inspection.
*only if you think the settings have been changed or altered*

If you unplug the AFC from the harness (NOT the ECU), the settings will be saved. Don't worry. I did it all the time when I parked somewhere. I took it with me or locked it in the trunk so it didn't attract any theives.
Unplug it from the middle and hide the rest of the wire from your ECU and you should be fine. Unfortunately, I don't know how your car will run without the AFC and your emissions numbers might be even worse.
Anyway to answer your question, your AFC WILL NOT lose the settings if you unplug it.
