there is nothing to stop you from misshifitng. if you misshift, it is the car's force at the wheels that is driving the engine. Put it this way... if you ride your bike (and we will make this bike 21 speed, and the pedals do NOT spin freely, so they MUST spin with the bike's wheels), put it in the top speed, and then shift down to the first speed, your feet will have one hell of a time stopping it.
If you don't mis shifts ever, get a shift light.
Or, get your ecu chipped with a program that has a fuel cut off.
My LS erick's racing chip cuts off at 8500 rpm I believe.
