Type R Oil Pump/Water Pump, any better than LS oil/water pumps?
My car needs a water pump now, and I was about to buy one at Auto zone, it has a lot of miles (170k) and I'm about to boost. I found a Type R oil and water pump on here for 40 bucks w/10000 kilometers on them. I think I remember reading that the type r oil pump was better than the ls...anyone fill me in? thanks!

Ok, so for the oil pump, I would have to cut into my plastic timing covers? (94 ls) And it is higher flow, so it's better.
And for the water pump, will it work? or is it beneficial?

yes it will work since you are going to have a higher flow
that the turbo will benefit from it..
dont forget some minor mods have to be done thats all

minor mods on the plastic covers so they will fit
like taking a little off the joint..
ifyou dont the screws will not line up..

Only the water pump. Use a LS water pump, otherwise you have to change your timing belt. A LS water pump only has 19 splines, a VTEC water pump has 22 and is much bigger.
