Type R brakes
What are the differences between GSR and Type R brakes? Besides the number of holes in the rotors. I know the rear rotors are bigger on a ITR. That's all I know. How about pistons, master cylinders, anything else??

See this thread for a conversion detail (this came up twice today ):

The 5x114.3 pattern ITR has both larger front and rear calipers than other 94-01 Integras.

This is not correct. Please do not post what you do not know.

Re: (High RPM)
Integra GSR =
10.3" front rotors, 21mm thick
17CL14VN calipers
9.4" rear discs, 8mm thick
7CLP13S calipers
ITR =
11.1" front rotors, 23mm thick
17CL15VN calipers, pad is about 30% bigger
10.2" rear discs, 9mm thick
9CLP14S calipers, pad is the same but twice as tall (2x the pad area)
ITR brakes can be had on a GSR by redrilling the rotors and using hub-centering rings, and milling the brackets in the front and trimming the dust shield in the rear.
ITR caliper loaded is appx. 15lbs, with GS or NSX caliper bodies is about 17lbs.
PM me if you want a brake conversion.

You do not need the hub centering rings with the 4x114.3 mm 92-96 Prelude VTEC front rotors redrilled to 4x100. They have the correct 64 mm center bore already, 282 mm diameter, and 23 mm thickness. 5x114.3 mm ITR rotors have the incorrect 70mm center bore that requires the centering ring and will overlap at least one hole when redrilled to 4x100 mm.

Re: (Dogginator)
So basically we can do poor mans type r front brakes with the calipers and re drilled lude rotors? this sounds like a fairly inexpensive way to increase braking.

Re: (Dogginator)
Yeah, I was just saying if you had complete ITR brakes. Obviously from scratch, you go with Prelude VTEC fronts, and EP3 rear discs, then you don't need hub rings. The rings for the back are for any other 10.2" disc, which are 61.5 to 64.1mm, but the EP3 disk happens to use the same retainer screw location as the Integra/civic rear disc hubs, so you dont need it. The fronts would take a 64.1 to 70.1mm ring, yes, but if you use the Prelude rotors redrilled to 4x100, its a bolt on affair. And yes one or two holes will overlap (depending how you drill it).
The 4x100 Type-R setup is great, technically better cause its lighter, hehe (by a few ounces I'm sure). It can be had for around 300$ and its a big step up from regular integra brakes. If you wanna go this route, PM me.
