Turned off the CEL code a few times...now CEL code gone
Car: 98 integra GS-R
mods: AEM CAI
Mileage: 167xxx
Code: P1457 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Control System Leakage (EVAP Canister System)
Problem:The car runs fine even with that code on, but after turning it off a few times. It has yet to come back on now. What does that mean? Thanks!

yeah me too... i got something similar to this... code 90 which is "Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area" car seems to be running fine and everything except that the light goes on... any help out there? whats the worst that can happen by driving around with this?

Well isnt the evap system controlling HC's? Im guessing your car isnt purging when it should purge HC's through the charcoal canister and out the atmosphere when cleaned up by the canister? I dont think it would affect your driving. just emissions.

I see those codes alot on nissans cause i work at a nissan dealership and some on acuras when i do used cars. On Nissans its mostly leaks in the evap system by old hoses in the evap canister.

finally! a reply from someone! if i keep driving around like this and dont get it fixed, wud this turn into a bigger problem in the future? if it wont affect how my car will run and will do nothing but polute the air, then i dont care about fixing it... hehehe
