Turn signal help
Well it should be pretty obvious that the turn signals don't work on my buddy's car by the topic title.
But here's where it gets wierd: The fuse is good, the relay is good, and we replaced the entire headlight/turn signal stalk and still no go.
The car is a 94 Integra with a newer front end conversion. What I'm going to do the next time I see him is take a DMM to the turn signal bulb housings and see if I am able to read any voltage.
I got the Haynes manual and looked over everything I could. But I came across an idea today at work...while we were swaping the stalks I noticed that the turn signal harness is only 3 wires: One for the left; one ground; and one for the right. If the DMM shows nothing I'm going to do a side-by-side splice a little bit away from the turn signal plug (out the back of the fuse panel) and attach it to the turn signal positive near an actual signal (probably the front passenger). If that solves it I'll post back on here.
BUT before I do that, has anyone had this problem before after checking all of the above? I find it really odd that the signals don't work but the flashers do. ...even after checking / replacing the fuse, relay, and actual stalk.

I'd love to see a reply other than, "check the fuse, relay, bulbs, etc. This definitely something screwy with the wiring.

When engaged, the turn signals don't blink, come on, nothing, nathan, nada. They don't even blink on the gauge cluster. Press the hazards, blink just fine, inside and out.

sounds like the switch then according to that ^.
def not the lights or the wiring to the lights, relays, if the hazard button makes them work.
check the actual switch on the steering column.

well, I had an extra switch in a box of parts that came with the car. We replaced it to see if the switch on there now was bad. The different switch worked the headlights and brights just fine, but no turn signals. This is when we grounded a wire and tried to make the signals work by touching them to the appropriate wires. We didn't get anything out of that either. That made us believe it wasn't the switch. But maybe I could be wrong....I'm totally stumped on this one. The parking lamps run when the headlights are on, and the hazard button does make them blink, both outside on the lamps and inside on the cluster.

The next time I can work on the car I'm going to check just that, the wiring from the switch down to the relay (we even replaced the relay, and yes the fuse is good) and from the relay out.
And maybe this will help clear up any ambiguity - his turn signals and parking lamps use a two filament bulb. His parking lights come on just fine, but his turn signals don't work at all. I mean nothing happens when you push the lever up or down.
