alright guys help me out here!



so my lower "turn signals" are wired to run like daytime lights. thats how they were when i bought my car and personally i think its pretty cool. the day i bought my car, they both worked. hours later that day, only one was working and by the next day none of them did. soo, i replaced the bulbs. that next day they were both out again. this has been an on going thing for months and personally i just stopped replacing the bulbs because i was just too lazy for all of that lol

i decided to give it another shot 2 days ago and i but new bulbs in and they worked great. that night also they were both working so i was thinkin that it was maybe fixed haha. the next day when my friend came over, i turned them on and only one worked. FRUSTRATING

the scary part about this whole thing is that every time i replace the bulbs, the "burnt-out" bulbs aren't just out, but like always broken! either its completely fried, or its cracked, or its melted to the inside of the amber (wtf??) or just completely in pieces. like glass everywhere. also they get REALLY hot. like i burned my thumb taking it out yesterday

WHATS WRONG?? do i need different bulbs? the ones i've been using are like h4 bulbs and i know that the turn signals aren't supposed to be wired to run like daytime lights. did the other guy wire it wrong?? idk guys any help would be great

 

Those bulbs aren't designed to run continuously like that. You're overheating them.

Front turn signal bulbs are 1156, which are only meant to blink. If you want them on all the time, rewire and resocket it to use a 1157 and only use the low filament for DRL use, and blink the high filament. Thats how G3 Integras run with the marker lamps on without blowing bulbs.
