Trunk is misaligned. Some inputs?
I got into an accident a little while ago, which involved the replacement of my driver's side rear quarter panel and bumper. I haven't noticed this until now (
= me) but there is a large gap between the trunk and the roof of the car. I'm not sure if that's the cause of it, but it's hard to close the trunk--meaning before, I was able to grab a hold of the little latch and pull the trunk closed that way, but now, it's too stiff for that to work. Look at the pics below and let me know how/if I can go about fixing this. Thanks.

That looks right to me....it has to have room to open. The "alignment" thing seems to be more like the rubber seal being bent up/not straight....not the metal.

mine looks like that too, never had a wreck in the back.
if there's too much of a gap up top, then it would like it has an "overbite" where it comes down over the taillights and down around that area. So check that and if it looks fine back there, then it's fine up top.

mine is the same and u might wanna check the gaps on truck and rear qpanel see if both sides are the same.. if not then u know u gotta align the trunk which is not too fun best if u have a 2nd person to help ..

It actually does have a little bit of that overbite. I'll try to take a picture of it.
I don't mean to sound like a wimp, but closing the trunk is a PITA now. Would changing out the "shocks" possibly solve the problem?
And Postal: To align it, I just need to take off/loosen the bolts up top, then (with a friend), try to center it the best we can, right?

Did your car ever have a wing on it? Did you take it off? I think Integras that came with wings had different hatch struts than those without. Since I took my wing off, it's also harder to close the hatch. Even though the OEM wing doesn't weigh very much, it made a noticeable difference when trying to close the hatch w/o it on there. You might try getting some struts for an LS Integra that did not have a wing.
