Default Trunk Key Entry Problem

I have an alarm for my car. Its Micro. Never heard of a brand like that before but it came with the car. So, I'm trying to use the key to open the trunk but for some reason it doesn't work. Trying to get in through the door with the key is not possible either. The only way is using the Pad to unlock the car.
How do i resolve this problem? Or is this just a spec of the Micro Brand Alarm System?

-Does it unlock, and then re-lock itself after you turn the key? Or does it simply not do anything?

-You've tried turning the key both ways, right?

-My guess: you have a different key for the ignition than the doors and trunk.

Alright, then yeah, i'm pretty sure there are two different keys then. Sometimes people's ignitions get messed up from either overuse or theft and they have to replace it, thus making it a different key. They probably either installed the alarm afterwards so that they wouldn't need a seperate key to unlock it, or they figured you wouldn't need one with the keypad.

-If you give Honda your VIN number (any Honda dealer should work), I think they can cut a key for your car. It sounds to me like the ignition is where the different key is, so the ones on the outside of the car should be the same factory ones. Just make sure to take your registation along (to prove the car is yours), and for a small fee they should be able to make you a new key. Let me know how it goes.

It may be possible that the previous owner disabled the unlocking mechanism for the key on the doors and trunk. Just another idea to throw in there.

I highly doubt that's the case...I would try getting a key made first.

can you lock the doors from the inside with the handle?

if not then they have probablly been disabled, just take the door panel off and look to see if there is a rod that goes from the handle lock to the striker area
