is it true?
so im planning to install my JDM front very soon and i just heard that, if u dont grind the welding spots u did then i would start to rust? is it true? if it is what grinder should i use?
i'm actually in the process of doing my front on my 98 sedan after a bad car accident, if yours is still a okay front end, [no damage] all you need is the "t-bar" it's the upper portion of the radiator support. so you dont really need to grind or drill out any spot welds at all rele.. but in my case for example, i needed the whole damn radiator support, i drilled out all of the spot welds with a regular drill bit, [takes quite a bit of time] and whatever spot weld that is still sticking to the frame, just get a flathead screwdriver and kinda beat it loose with a hammer. sounds kinda sketchy to do, but it works man. oh and i've come across a few posts where some guys are bolting their new radiator support on.. i DO NOT recommend that at all. if come across a tight corner or what not, it will twist around. i hope i helped a little bit at least. just keep researching tho. this is my first time doing it, and i havn't come across b.s. yet. oh and as far as rust, just spray some paint on your welds and your fine. it wont kill it that bad on welds that small.

you need a clean bare metal to weld which means yes it will rust if you don't paint over it, and so will the welds... so just simply clean the carbon off of it with a wire brush when you're done welding and paint over it
