Default Transmission problem on a b18b engine

I have a big problem on my transmission. The car starts but I'm unable to shift into any of the five gears. I checked for emptiness of transmission fluid; I refilled.

Still, I can't shifted into any of the five gears. My friend thinks it's the synchros that's causing the problem.

Does any one have the same problem or have a resolution?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

ya, i had this same exact problem on my 94 gsr..its pretty old n has like 120,000 miles on it. so depending on how many miles ur car got, i would say its most likely a clutch problem, mine is in the shop right now n they said it was the clutch, pressure plate, n flywheel, i dont think its ur synchros cuz that would just mess up certain gears.....

It was grinding in first and second gear leading up the problem.

I don't know you might be right. My friend said it's the synchros. He might be wrong.

I haven't checked the clutch. My car has about 160,000 miles on it.

Any other feendbacks are welcome.

so right now like when the car is on you cant shift gears? but when its off are you able to move the shifter into all gears? if so, thats most likely ur clutch..try starting it in first or whatever and try moving, n if it grinds then thats ur clutch..

Are you sure? Cause I don't wanna spend money for a new tranny.

My friend and I are trying to replace the tranny; however, I have second thought that it might not be the cause.

Has yours been fixed yet?

Tell me about it.
