alright so i can't get into revers, now i know this is a big porblems with a lot of tegs, but its worse now, it has always been a little stubborn, but now i can;t get it in period. it just stops ive tried figdeting hitting gas cltuch eveyrhitng all the tips and tricks everyone has suggested, but its like. .gone. im stuck in my garage right now, becasue i cant back out,when i hit the gas and hold it as far back as it goes, it make s a small light grnidsng noise, but nothing major. . and thne after that its liek stiff and wont go into any gear, the i shake it around and its good, but obiously doesnt go into reverse. what could be my problem, synrcho? something else? thanks

your synrcho are going bad, take it in to get it fixed or replaced
or eles it will get worst.

 

I had the same problem with my clutch a while back, but I couldn't get it into third. I thought it was the synchros, but it turned out that a piece of my clutch plate had completely broken off and lodged itself in between the gears. Get it checked out. It may or may not be the synchros.

 

Reverse doesn't have a synchro. There is a piece in your tranny that is broken, back it out of your garage and take it to a shop because you need to get it fixed.

 

dam jon looks like both are trannies are messed up. how are we gonna get to school!

alright. . .so i have bene paklying with my car wigggling and wat not and now i cant get into and gears thre not evena netrual it will only slide up and downas if its going to 3 adn 4th gear abck and froth no sideward motion oooh im soo pissed. . does nayone know now??

 

allright so ive been messing wiht it some more and now i can use all the other gears. . .alright. . weird. . but revrese is still not budging. . i listened under the hood, and there is this noise coming from the tranny area that i had never notived before, it sound like the noise that a faucet makes when it is on, excpet for the water spalshing in the sink. . just lie osmehting moving int here. . and a dry, not wet sound ,but just sumthing there. . hard to explain, its not very loud either but its coming right from the tranny, which seems to be the root to all my problems

 

Jon, do you remember that guy nate the other night with the red (well... most of it's red ) ls? the fast as **** ls?... well when i was driving it and tried to put it in 3rd gear, it sounds like what you're describing. He told me it was his 3rd gear synchro, but in your case, there isn't a syncrho in reverse (or 1st). I dunno what to tell you. Have you checked your shift linkage? maybe there is a dead cat or something stuck on the left side of your car... haha... i dunno...

make sure you get some money and take it to a shop.
