transmission choices (searched)
searched the topic and got mixed information..i would like to clarify this once and for all..so don't reply unless you have actually ran a similar set up and have tested this set up..also, time sheets, dyno sheets, or some sort of proof would be appreciated to clarify..
here we go:
i'm about to receive a jdm 2nd gen b16 to drop in my DA..it's gonna be boosted and if all goes right, it should be in the 350+ hp range. I'm gonna have 3 choices of transmissions to choose from, a gsr, ys1, and the tranny that comes with the swap. which tranny is the best option? what are the benefits and downsides to each. i searched and got a lot of mixed answers. no one really had proof of which tranny is better and why. please only give input if you have used at least 2 of these three combinations, and have some sort of evidence as to the results. Thanks in advance
p.s. i will probably be running street tires (in case you were wondering for traction purposes)

Re: transmission choices (projectstacy)
Why don't you determine where your power band is going to be and look up the gear ratios for each of those transmission? That will help you select the best one for your application. There's a gear ratio calculator to let you know where your RPM will drop to when you shift at redline. It's either on Team Integra or somewhere online. Other than that, other factors will be if one of them has an LSD or the wear and tear/age of the transmission.
Good Luck.

i have a turbo b20 in a 90 4door. i have ran the stock ls. good but i didnt really like the long 1st and 2nd
93 gsr. great for light to light and some highway but felt like it was killing the motor from the high rpms
92 b16. great for light to light
currently a 93 gsr with ls 3rd 4th 5th.
in my opnion the one i have now is the best so far. great off the line and still good for highway.

Re: (91b20bintegra)
ok, i have and ls and i swapped that trans out with a type r which has almost exact same ratios as the b16... the ls can get a lot more speed out of it, higher mph... the type r though is able to pick up speed a lot quicker... in my opinion i think you should take the ls tranny and just rebuild it with lsd if you want something you will be able to get higher speeds out of and get most out of your turbo otherwise if you want track/light to light then id go with the b16 or gsr... only reason i didnt do the ls with lsd is because i got a good deal on a brand new type r trans and a 4.06 final drive for it (still needs be installed though)...
