transmission changes Help.
I have a B18B1 for my integra, and it's automatic. I am wondering if it is possible to change to manual. If possible, what do I need to buy to shift it over to manual transmission.
its very possible, i dont know all the exact details but i would first try search for auto to manual trans or something first, you'll find plenty of threads.
Yes it is possible. I have done it to my old 97LS Integra.
Basically my suggestion is.....If you have a shop hookup with labor [/b]OR[/b] you can do it yourself, then go ahead and do the swap. If you don't have any of these, don't bother because they will charge you nearly $3K to do it...at least.
Barebones you'l need:
1) B-series tranny
2) Clutch/flywheel
3) Master/slave cylinder
4) Shift linkages
5) Starter from 5-speed Integra
6) Driver's side axle
7) Intermediary shaft
8) Assorted hoses, nuts, and bolts
EDIT: Clutch pedal assembly too (brake not totally necessary). Thanks JimBlake
Stuff you don't need, but is good to have to make everything perfect:
1) Center console from 5-speed Integra
2) ECU from 5-speed B18B1
There is more stuff, but it's kinda late. Everything is pretty easy except for the wiring. That's a bit difficult.

You probably should get a clutch pedal, too.
I figured you knew that.
Also, with an auto, theres a starter interlock switch on the shifter. For a manual, the interlock is on the clutch pedal. So you have to run some wires around...
