i just replaced my transmisson in my 95 integra gsr....i repleaced the clutch with a another stock one and replaced the stock gsr tranny with a JDM b16 trans......the trans shifts good, no grinds, everything seems good......heres my question.....whenver i say downshift into 1st gear i can hear the trans like wind up.....its really only in 1st maybe sometimes when i downshift into 2nd it does it but not as bad as 1st......would anyone know anything about this.....thanks

 

and also i forgot to mention...the wind doesnt happen everytime.....mostly when the car is just first started and then it will go down after that

 

First, make sure it has fluid.

It's prolly just your syncros speeding up, but you do know that you cannot downshift too early right?

Like shifting into 1st when your going 40 mph coming up to a stop sign

 

ohhh yeaa i no that......yeas there is fluid.....i think your probably right about that synchro......but heres what i mean when im downshiftin into first like say i am going 25 and i downshift into first with my foot still on the clutch like i didnt fully downshift yet i can here it wind........ur probably right wit the synchro

Right there is your problem. 1st gear should only be shifted into when you are stopped, or close to stopped.

This will destroy your syncros very fast.

 

I usually ease my pig into 1st about 20mph cause as soon as I stop the light turns green.
