Default Tranny problems

Hello guys I have a 94 teg with tranny problems.. I just got the car and found that when I put it in drive it jurked and the shifts while driving where not too smooth.. I changed the tranny oil and the shifts while driving got much better, but the final sown shift is not very smooth and the parking and to drive shift is still jurkey but not as much... Think my tranny is gone or what.... thanks in advance...

Try changing the fluid four more times. When you drain the fluid in a Honda auto, you only get about 1/4 of the fluid out. To do a full flush, you have to drain/fill/drive four times. It's a pain in the ***, but that is what is says to do in the factory manual. But this is only for severe cases. Usually you just drain and fill.

I have seen this make a world of difference on cars where it hasn't been done in a LONG time.

also, make sure you idle is set properly.. if the car is revving too high when you put it in gear, it will jerk

I just found out after runing a track event yesterday that my main shaft bearing is going out. great...

PROS = can be replaced with a type r tranny w/ LSD
CONS = I was qouted this morning $3000+ with parts & labor.

Brian>>>> you think what I am experiencing with my teg is normal.... Caz I have a 99 civic and it shifts smoother, I know its a newer car, but still. I am most worried about the jerky shifts from park to drive and reverce..
