Ok i start my DA up and i start to drive (automatic)...and soon as i get to operating temperature...the car just starts to redline as if it were in neutral...but it is in drive...and it keeps doing it now...my tranny was shifting perfect before this...now i cant drive it at all becuz soon as the tranny warms up the car wont move...do i have to get a new transmission or what?

 

That means the clutches inside the transmission are worn out. The transmission needs to be rebuilt.

 

damn...do u know how much that would be...or am i better off getting one from a junkyard?

 

Manual conversion FTW!!!!. Junkyard or rebuild the one you have now.

 

i dont have the funds to do the auto to manual swap nor the mechanical skills...anyone have an estimate on a junkyard auto tranny...and can i use a tranny off b18b?

 

just get one from a junkyard they will be cheap if they have one but have fun paying for the tranny and installation

 

im not worried about the installation...my brother will do that...i just wanted to see if i had to buy a new tranny

 

a new tranny will fix the problem
