Default tranny problems?

i started up my car today and i couldnt get it into gear once engine was running. when i did manage to get it into gear the car had a really low idle and was slowly moving forward and shaking when i took my foot off the break (and i wasnt on a hill). also shifting between gears felt clunky. i was thinking that maybe i was low on tranny fluid but that i dont think that explains why i couldnt get my car into gear and then it slowly moving forward and shaking. anyone got any ideas what the hell is wrong with my tranny?

did you check your master and slave cylinder. check for brake fluid under the clutch pedal and look behind the boot on the slave cylinder to see if it is leaking. also check the fluid in the clutch master cylinder reservoir. if any of those are leaking it would cause problems with shifting.

alright, so i just checked behind my clutch pedal and i did find, what i am assuming, is brake fluid. i recently had my clutch slave cylinder changed so i dont think that is leaking. but im having trouble getting the damn car in gear. anyone else have any opinions as well?

btw: thanks for the input

well if you didnt have your master cylinder changed and you have brake fluid under your clutch pedal i would take a wild guess and say it is your master cylinder.

Your symptoms sounded like you needed to bleed the clutch slave cylinder. Your clutch wouldn't disengage, which doesn't indicate a bad clutch. A slipping clutch would be bad.
