Default tranny problem

i have a 94 LS and my tranny is acting up. my clutch makes noises when it is pushed in and when i release it. i have trouble getting into second and fourth gear and when i come to a complete stop, pretty much everytime all gears lock up and i cant get it in. i have to shut off the car and once i can finally get it into gear it is real smooth and the clutch is super soft. all this has been happening in the last two days. also my maintenance required light comes on. *goes out side to check how many times it blinks*

thanks for all the help

Check to make sure the brake system is properly bled.

try bleeding the clutch fluid.

maint. req light doesn't mean anything. there's a button to turn it off under the steering column.

can you explain what bleeding the brake fluid would do?

and i looked in my manual to see where the bolt is on the tranny to check the oil level but i cant tell where it is. i hate transmissions. anyone have a picture of where the bolt is?

im at 114k miles so im guessing the maint. req light just has to do with either oil change or my 115k mile service.

it has everything to do with nothing. it comes on at preset mileage intervals.

the tranny drain bolt should be close to the bottom of the tranny and toward the rear of the car. a 1/2 box end of a wrench should fit in it. the fill plug is sorta central and toward the rear if i remember correctly. its reccomended to use Honda manual transmission fluid but you can get away with regular motor oil.

Edit: im an idiot its totally a 1/2 drive.

by trouble do you mean it grinds really bad or just wont go in? sounds like either your synchros are shot or your pressure plate is fucked.

go bleed your clutch fluid.... it would clean out all that dirt and build up in the lines... after that... have a mechanic adjust your clutch by the pedals... your suppose to adjust your clutch every 15,000-20,000 miles or check underneath the driver side, by the pedals and look up see if you see any wet spots... if there is.... you might need a new CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER! IF YOU STILL CANT GET INTO GEAR AFTER ALL THIS.... CHECK YOUR SHIFT LINKAGE SEE IF ITS BENT... OR YOU MIGHT NEED TO REBUILD OR GET A NEW TRANNY!
