I have been throwing a low circuit input from my TPS, I had damaged the inside section of my stock throttlebody that connects to the dial on the TPS that moves it, so I juust installed a new 70mm BBK throttlebody and I am still having issues with it. I am setting the TPS to .045V @ idle and when I set it to that I still throw the code.... plus it does not read 4v @ wot but more like 4.20...... is there anything else I can check before I go out on a journey to get a new TPS?

 

I assume you are using the old TPS on the new TB? If that is the case, replace the TPS. I don't think there is anything you can do internally to fix the TPS, if it was damaged just replace the whole unit.

not to thread jack but I was throwing a tps code and I replaced it and now I idle at 1500 rpms is it possible to adjust the TPS?

 

No, it is not possible to adjust, I am almost 100% sure. Just buy a new one.

 

huh yes u can adjust the tps before buying a new tps try setting it closer to .5 and see how that works. My helms actually says .5 and not .45 like alot of people on here say. Also ensure u do this with the car not running becuase the readings are diff between the 2

loosen the screw on the tps sensor. there should be three wires. you test the red and green wire. ground on the red wire and the other on the green wire. turn your ignition to the on position and look at your volt meter there should be a reading on there. now turn your tps sensor clock or counter clockwise depeneding on what your reading is. once you get your final reading, (.45-.5) tighten the screws back up..

the tps is misleading when you look at it it looks like its rivited onto the throttle body but they are infact screws you just have to dremel a notch and screw it out. and when its loose or off you'll notice that there is play in the wholes so you can adjust it to a different degree. The worst part is that you cannot get a new tps from dealer you have to buy the entire throttle body which is a joke imo.

Well that is where I have been messing up...... I have been grounding my multimeter to the chassis and just checking the voltage on the red wire....... the problem I have been having is when the TPS is set to .045-.050 volts, when I look at my multimeter, it shows a TP of .4 to .8% which is throwing the code..... what should the reading be a WOT

 

at wot, it should be 4.5 but mine read 4.6-4.7

 

yea somewhere around that mines set at .495 at closed and 5. at WOT

 

ok got it all worked out, but the kick in the dick is the OBD2 scan tool reads around 11% throttle @ idle and 92% @ WOT..... the the hell is up with this thing.

 

I got the same issue man. I got a str 68mm TB on my 99 gsr and the thing doesn't seem to run right. I had kingmotorsports recalibrated it for me ( they have a special machine for calibrating throttlebodies after performing bore jobs). After that the car runs, but it seems like its leaning out at 2500-3000 rpm and starts bogging. Don't know if its faulty tps or map sensor.
