Default TPS Issue?

can someone please help me with this? here's a link to my previous string about my car running like crap:
<a href>https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1094394</a= href>

i have checked pretty much all the sensors, and they all check out fine. no CEL. but when i unplug the TPS, it doesn't change anything. shouldn't it run terribly w/o it? but if the sensor is okay, that means the wire leading to the computer is fudged. i've never even seen this wire; how could it have been damaged? anyways, i'm hoping somebody can confirm that this sensor needs to be plugged in for the car to run correctly, and that driving w/ a functioning car's TPS unplugged will render symptoms similar to mine, i.e. bad misfiring, increasing with load and throttle input and decreasing as engine speed rises. please help. need car to run, need to get back to school this w/e.

sorry didnt try it, but with other cars i've worked on if the tps gets disengaged (?) the comp will revert to a stored baseline af map for safety. In mitsu's with autos it''ll actually set the tranny into a third gear safety mode to protect itself. I'd be willing to bet that even with the tps disengaged your car would still run fine, just a little slower as the comp wouldnt adjust to air temp, heat and pressure. it would go to a default a/f ratioand turn the CEL on. just my two cents worth with some others cars i've worked on. I'll go check it out on my here in sec.
BTW if someone can prove me wrong or back me up thats the first step to figuring it out

dam it all! i changed the spark plugs and it runs just fine, at least for now. i swear, the old plugs looked pretty normal, just a tiny bit of carbon on the top of the last thread that sticks into the cylinder. anyways, hopefully this is the permanent solution. !&@$^%&^!%@*^%$!! wish i'd tried this at least a week ago! oh well, back to kickin @$$, baby!
