Tire Rub Problem
I recently installed my tein ss' and lowered my 99 ls and now I have a 2 finger gap on the front. The problem is that they rub real bad when I turn the steering wheel. This happens when I make sharp turns or simply backing out of a parking stall. Does camber play a role in this? What can I do to fix this? Thanks

your rim size and your tire size plays a big role in this btw what are you running on?
i have 18" 215/35 no finger gap drop and when i make 90 degree turns that's the only time it rubs.

Don't Tein SS's lower your car a little over 2 inches. I know someone that has them and it slammed his car. If you have a 2 finger gap, then it shouldn't rub. I have H&R sport springs with 15" rims with 205/50/15 tires. After I installed my Ingall's camber kit, my car rubbed even more. I just took out my fender liners and the problem was solved.
Getting a camber kit will just make you rub even more because it will straighten out your rims/tires. Take your wheel wells/fender liners out. If your car still rubs, get your fenders rolled.

Check out this gap on 205 40 17's... I only rub during u-turns or ramps where my wheel is turned nearly all the way to one side.... so if you have a 2 finger gap, you should NOT be rubbing... I was planning on raising mine to have about a 1" gap, which is what you mentioned, about 2 fingers...
In this picture, I had just lowered it off the jack... the top of the tire is normally tucked just a bit.

well man if you are rubbing with the stock wheels and tires with a two finger gap then i must be screwed and dont realize it. i have a no finger gap anywhere and i dont rub so i really dont see how you do.

I suspect you might have a problem with part of your suspension. Has the car ever been wrecked before? I'm lowered 3" w/ 205/50-15 tires and my car NEVER rubs at all. It doesn't rub the fender liner, fender, frame, suspension, nothing.
I highly recommend NOT removing your fenderliners, unless you want ALOT of dirt and grime to build up under your fenders, on the leading edges of your doors, etc. When I bought my car it was missing the pass. side fender liner. One time I took the fenders off to install sidemarkers, and there was a wall of dirt built up under the top edge of the passenger fender along the frame rail.

I have an LS that i dropped with neuspeed race springs(which were cut by my friend) i tucked the stock tires into the fender. What i did to fix the rubbing was to cut out the fender liner just where it goes over the tire, i left some on in the front and in the back to keep out some of the road debris. I also took a grinder and cut tabs in the seam that runs above the tire in the fender and hammered it flat, gave about half an inch more clearance. Now it only rubs when the wheel is locked but it rubs on a smooth part of the frame so it doesnt really hurt anything.

I have 15" rota slips with falken avis 205/55's and I have stock struts with ractive coilovers I took out my inside lining. It is a good idea to get rid of the scrapping but dont remove all of it on your cold air side. There are 2 pieces only take out the top center on the right side. I made the mistake of taking it all out and throwing it away and ended up having to cut my intake down to a short ram. You shouldnt scrape after that.
