Timing belt & water pump costs??
My 95GSR has 107k mi on it and I think its about time to replace the timing belt and water pump. To my knowledge it has never been changed before (bought it used with 70k mi on it). On average what should I expect to pay for a job like this parts/labor?? I'm NOT talking about dealership costs, just average costs that smaller shops would charge. thanks

its gonna cost you a grip if you go to any shop, especially a dealer. expect to pay over $500 for the timing belt and waterpump replacement.

Prices for parts:
Water pump = $90
Timing belt = $60
AC Belt = $20
Alternator Belt = $20
PS Pump Belt = $15
That's $200 in parts already. If you start replacing other items, it gets quite a bit more expensive. But, if you take it to a smaller shop, they'll probably use non-OEM Honda parts for the ACC belts and maybe even the water pump and timing belt too so that they're parts costs are lower.
Water pump = $90
Timing belt = $60

do not take it to an independent garage..90% they will use a/m garbage and it's still going to cost $300 up......except to pay about $500 @ the dealer.

Do not skimp on parts, go only Honda OEM water pump, and OEM Timing Belt. They are simply the best you can get, if your just looking to replace them. Pep Boys belts are fine for the accessories (alternator, PS Pump, AC), but that would be as far as I would go with those kinds of parts. Oh...about $500 bucks is about average, any less than that is a good deal. The dealers around here wanted $650-$675 for my belt/water pump change, I was like forget it.

Do the work yourself and put that money towards other stuff. It isnt hard. Get the manual for your car, the right tools and knock it out. If you do it yourself, have a friend with you to help you out with it. Good luck.

when i got mine done it was $250 for timing belt, water pump and the 3 belts. of course it a freinds shop but they normally ask for $350.

If you've done a valve adjustment before, then you won't find it that much harder, except that you have more steps and the bolts are a lot harder to break loose/turn b/c of tight spaces and high torque values. If you feel uncomfortable about doing it, I'd just take it to Acura. Better safe than sorry.
Other tools:
.:various deep/non-deep sockets, extensions, and ratchets (up to 19mm deep and 6" extension)
.: 5/8" spark plug deep socket
.:Moroso Honda crankshaft pulley holder tool
.:Torque wrench (clicker type that goes up to 80lb*ft)

The first thing you need to do is order a Helmz Integra Shop Manual www.helminc.com it is an actual SHOP Manual .. its $65 but its the BEST
even if you dont plan on doing much work to the integra yourself... you can atleast look at the steps and see how hard it is ... .that way youll know if a shop is trying to rip you off

They SUCKKKKKKK trust me .. i had one of those Haynes from Autozone .... when i replaced my Rack and pinion .. it was Wrong 3 different times ..causing me to do a lot of extra work ...
The one you get from Helmz is THE BEST .. no one on this whole board will deny that .. it has every spec... and pic you will need to build that integra from the ground up ..
It is an Actual SHOP manual ... no where on it ..did it even say Helms .. mine says Acura Shop manual for 1995 Acura integra .. and is thick and about half the size of a dictionary
Trust me .. when you see it ... it will be THE BEST $65 you spent on your Integra to date

I replaced my just 2 months ago on my 94gsr, had 108k miles.
I ordered all the parts all online from ahmotor.com,
Invtec has it just right for all price and parts. You also want to replace the valve cover gasket, and seals since you taking them apart anyway.
My local shop wanted $350 for the timing belt/water pump, which was pretty decent considering the aftermarket prices for the two was about the same as the oem part. I also had the ps, ac, alt belt replaced also. Total was almost $500.
The parts were a little more than $200 (honda oem) and labor was a little less then $300. Total was about $500, a lot imo but it gives me piece of mind knowing they are oem parts, not the aftermarket garbage.
