Default TICKING LSVTEC HELP!!

Hey guys so I have a LSVTEC B18b1/GSR head. The motor. Currently is ticking I thought I had bent a valve because the compression test was 1 - 185 psi dry/ 200 wet

2-170 psi dry/ 195 wet

3-185 dry/ 190 wet

4-165 dry / 175 psi wet

Now that i got the head back it’s still ticking! I adjusted the valve lash to spec and just running out of options now
(part 1)
(part 2)
THANK YOU GUYS IN ADVANCE!

It almost sounds like your bottom end..

It takes some practice doing the valve lash, wait till the morning and check it again.

You can try a set of new upgraded LMA's or even aftermarket if indeed its the LMA's that are ticking but to me it doesn't sound like your head it sounds like a knock or mechanical timing or even ignition timing is way off.

i forgot to mention bro, but I replaced my LMAs too. and yeah i feel like it’s the bottom block also. I think it’s time to sleeve it now.

Check both mechanical and ignition timing at least!

I would skip sleeves and go with CSS but it sounds like a rod knock or spun bearing either way.

How does the oil look? It sounds like it goes away when the load goes away. A bearing knock will be worse at idle and go away as engine speed rises.

Just hearing it, the engine sounds like it’s running on 3 cylinder.

agree sounds like its missing

also sounds like you maybe having injector tick

I rebuilt\serviced the injectors on my B16a and they were noticeably quieter afterwards

I used a kit from these guys

x2 on injectors. I had cylinder 1 injector not shoot any fuel in my cylinder because of a loose connection or faulty adapter. It would run great cruising then doin a pull it would run on 3 cylinders and sound like a wrx like how OP sounds in the video.

OP, Try swapping out your injectors if you got some lying around and check your fuel pressure at the filter and fuel rail.

also change out your spark plugs, plug wires and rotor if you haven’t already.

It was a first gen cr-v, those things are indestructible!

Changed the wires, changed the plugs, went back to the forest the next weekend.
