Thrust Washers
i was turning my crank to put in my rods and 2 of my thrust washers fell out can some one help me and tell me how to put them back in, do i need to take out my crank to put them back in. PLZ HELP
DAMN so there is no way, i can put them back in by not having to take my crank off? i heard you dont have to what all do i have to do, ANY HELP WOULD B NICe
its possible but tedious why dont you just take the crank off? its only a few extra bolts assuming you didn't assemble it again forgetting to put back your thurst washers.
if your worried about your having your pistons comming out just take off the rod bolts and lift the crank up.

Shift the crankshaft to one side if you can, set the thrust bearing in the proper orientation against the crankshaft, and feed it through the opening.
if you had the bearings and trust washers(grooves out) all in place before sitting crank in place , they shouldnt be able to fall out once crank is sat in the engine dude. you sure you had those in the right place? they dont go in the middle you know. just making sure.

2 thrust washers with grooves facing toward crank. Inbetween cylinder 3 and 4 usually.
not sure about installing with crank in place. If you are using assembly lube like your supposed to just put a dab on them and that should hold them in place.

They can go in just fine with the crank in. Just take the main cap off between 2 and 3, place the washers on the crank and then just spin them untill they are between the block and the crank. I know it can be done because I have done it before.
You don't need to remove the crank. You may have to remove the main bearing girdle but you don't need to pulle the crank. And I believe that the grooves point away from the journal. You should be able to spin the washers right int. Good luck.
