Default Throttle Issue. Replace IM or What?

so i just got some issues with my idle being really high. i thought my bb was leaking because i just did my brake mc but every test was checking out fine. iacv and fitv were cleaned, operational and idle adjusted.

finally i figured it out. that little thing on the intake manifold, the one that holds the throttle wire, doesnt recoil all the way back to its original position. i pushed it back to where it should go and the idle was perfect again.

would wd40 do the trick? or is the coil so worn out where i need to replace it? and is that part replaceable or do i need to swap out the whole intake manifold?

just in case youre still wondering what im talking about. its the part that every kid moves to make their car rev up and down from the engine bay.

thanks

It is about 40 bucks to replace the throttle cable. I would advise replacing it. Look under the dash first at the where the gas pedal is attached to the throttle cable to make sure everything is hooked up correctly.

I dont mean the cable itself but rather the circle part that it connects to on the IM.

Why the hell would you replace the intake manifold>????

take off the throtle body! its 4 bolts! clean it out! and clean and oil lup the coil its prolly dirty! check the adjusting screw it might be holding the throtle plate open a lil! its right behind the coil.
I think your problem is your throtle cable just needs to be adjusted! if its to tight it will hold it open just a bit! to loose you will have slack! if you have a gsr the adjustment will be on the throtle cable bracket if its a b16 or itr manifold it will be right in the middle of the intake manifold the bracket is held by two 10mm bolts.

It's not too tight and the idle is already adjusted. I didn't realize that the throttle body held it. Makes my life easier.
