Default Throttle Body from Inlinefour?

Has anyone had any experience with the 70mm throttle bodies that InlineFour is making now? Here's a link: http://www.inlinefour.com/70bigborbilt.html. Is 70mm too large of a diameter for what I've got listed below? I've started assembling the parts for a cam upgrade, probably Crower 403's and the TB is the only part on the intake and exhaust side of the engine which is still stock. Can anyone recommend another alternative TB besides this one? I want something that won't require more modification than port-matching the IM to the TB and this supposedly will use all the stock sensors.

Thanks for any feedback

Thanks for the the reference.
However I looked at the article about throttle body size on team-integra but that seemed to be more for a system which has an individual throttle body for each cylinder. I mean if I take their calculations and guess that my LS makes its advertised 140 HP. Then it makes 35 HP per cylinder if my math is right. So according to their calculations I need between a 32 and 35mm throttle body. I believe the stock LS throttle body is at least 54 - 56mm so their math can't really apply here can it? I do think that 70mm might be a bit too large for my application but I'm wondering what the negative affects of that are. Can anyone help here?

I rarely see where a larger TB can gain noticable HP on here....the major exception would be FI (forced induction).

You mostly would benefit by having quicker throttle response.

If I were to throw out a number. Get something along the lines of a 65mm TB if you feel it's a worthy investment. I plan to bore mine out eventually, but I just can't justify the cost at this time.

Naturally Aspirated I wouldnt go over 65mm and thats with full headwork done. With your setup I would probably go with a 62mm, check out Holley, they make a 62mm and a 68mm i believe. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Instead of spending the money on a throttle body, use it for a valvetrain/cam ugrade. More bang for the buck. For a naturally aspirated LS I would not go over 62mm on the throttle body. A Type-R uses a 62mm throttle body and it revs to 8,400 rpm. Redline on an LS is 7,200 or so? 62mm will provide more than enough air for an LS, even at 8,000 rpm. Get some cam gears too and take it to a good tuner, spend some quality dyno time. You will be rewarded.

exactly wat everyone else said, BIG tb are for TURBO! w/ a NA car it'll HARDCORE kill your lowend and it wont even give you much top end either. i say get it, regret it, and sell it to me for cheap! hehe

that's the problem I had with my stock LS TB for a while. It seems to have settled down after the car has warmed up but when its cold it's idling at 2k and then hunting between 1600 and 2000. The TB got cleaned out along with all the associated plumbing and its gotten better.

As for getting a larger diameter TB, this would be in addition to the cam upgrade i'm currently working on putting together. Currently the TB is the only stock LS component on both the intake and exhaust side of the engine and I'd like to swap it out. Sounds like 62 is the magic number though. Any ideas on where to pick up a 62mm TB for a good price? Can I just hook up an ITR TB and run with that?
