Default testpipe

i recently installed a testpipe/resonator on my 94 integra.

i noticed that i have lost a lot of low end power up to around 4k rpm.
but it seems to pick up a bit faster in the higher rpm range.

i guess there isnt enough backpressure. i have cai, ngk wires, chipped ecu, headers, and 2.5in catback.

would you guys recomend putting the stock cat back on? or is loosing some low end power normal? i cant decide wat 2 do.

EDIT: OR would a highflow cat be a better way 2 go?

The loss of low end torque is normal with a testpipe. If you want to get it back either put your stock cat back on or buy a high flow catalytic converter. With your testpipe you should feel some sort of gains up in the rpm's getting close to redline by allowing your exhaust gases to flow more freely.

With the highflow cat you should be able to keep a good amount of back pressure which helps with your torque loss while still allowing a slighty easier flow of gases at higher rpms. I believe thats the concept at least.

It's your choice.

Thats right. You'll lose a little low end power, but you'll gain some up top. Its kind of a trade off, you have to decide whats right for you, everything has its flaws. Just keep the test pipe.

and about that polluting the earth thing, some people will seriously come in here and say to get a high flow cat for that reason.

thanks guys. yeah, its really nice at WOT. but around here, in new england, there is a lot of hills and mountains, so when i'm in traffic goin up a hill, i have noooo power lol. plus it is reallly loud, even with the resonator, so i think for now i'll put the stock cat back on, sell the pipe, then buy a highflow somewhere down the line.
