Default test pipe question

ok guys, i'm about to buy a test pipe for my 94 LS, now i know its OBD-1 so it wont' throw me a check engine light. but the place i'm ordering from online has the option of buying a few different kinds like....no welded 02 sensor, front welded 02. and i'm curious whats the main difference if i put them on my car because i'm goin to still going to have my 02 there when i put on my cat again for emissions. and i'm wondering what is the choice to go with. thanks.

Not really sure of your question.

OT: Isn't the 02 sensor for an OBD1 LS in the exhaust manifold?

Buy the testpipe with no o2 sensor welded, only the OBDII integs come with the o2 sensor welded on the catalytic converter, so you dont need to worry about that

This is not true, i have a 98 LS with OBDII and the O2 sensor is on the downpipe. no O2 sensor on the cat

damn dude, shut up........ There are many reasons for testpipe including the following:

cheaper
better flow
cheaper

**** it, if they made a cheap Cat for under 170 locally, I would get one, but a testpipe is better for custom fittings........

I also have a 98 B18B motor and yes there is an 02 sensor on the downpipe, but there is also one in the back of the cat.

Seriously d00d chill out. I think all of us have heard your position on test pipes. I am not against your position at all. I just feel you don't need to keep bringing it up in such a hateful manner.

I don't go around ******* on everyone for having 17" rims. He was asking a simple question, and not for your opinion. I have no problem if you want to express your opinion but do it in a dignified manner.

FWIW - I have known two different cars that have passed the sniffer test for emissions with a testpipe.

17s is opinion tho. Maybe a test pipe is too, but it still ruins the world I live in.
I stand on a very good point, and something worth standing on.

There are people here that mention altezzas, and they get a bunch of posts flamming them for it and that hurts no one. Yet no one is like "Dude...he is just asking a questions about altezzas, no need to flame him"

Why you buying a test pipe for your LS? Your car is a street car not a race car. Leave the damn cat in it. I don't want to be smelling your POS car. Get a high flow cat if you think your exhaust is restrictive. Pointless unless you have FI anyway.

I don't understand some people. too bad we couldn't run a tube from your exhaust into your nose so you could breathe the filth. hopefully you get pulled over and get a ticket.

I got a test pipe. You want me to die? What about those old muscle cars? They don't have cats. Should we kill them too? Sure we do.
I guess we should all sell our cars since it pollutes and buy electric vehicles. Yay for tree huggers. {sarcasm}

Jesus Christ man, if you want a test pipe, buy a damn test pipe. Just know that it's illegal and it pollutes the atmosphere. To each his own. If he wants to buy a test pipe get off his nutz. You have a problem w/pollution then do something about it. Don't be some little homo who just flames on the internet.

you're a good man for 1) being thoughtful of the enviorment and 2) have the gut to say it knowing you'll be flamed.
