No more HP, but for tunning purposes you need to be OBDI. If you plan on going turbo or staying NA and building the motor you will need it tuned and to do that you need to convert to OBDI

Other then the tuning, and such being answered, a testpipe is pretty much useless.
The ONLY reason you would really want one, is if you're pushing High hp numbers,
and you need the least amount of backpressure you can get.
High horsepower being 250-300+, because there will be marginal gains otherwise,
And also it's illegal in most/all states, plus since you live in Cali,
you would get raped if any higher authorities found out you ran catless.

To answer the brand question, it doesnt really matter what brand it is, just so long as its quality material. OR, go to any muffler shop, and have them fab one up. Bring in your cat, and they can match up the flanges and weld in a O2 sensor bung, shouldent cost more then 50-60 bucks.
^ yeah but it'll still sound like your exhaust is infested with bees
just get a high flow cat...it's not worth it to run a test pipe...sounds bad, smells bad, doesnt give you any real gains (unless, as CleanLikeJdm said, you're running high-hp), and you'll risk getting into trouble.
also, even if you do run an o2 sensor in your cat, you'll still likely throw a CEL...unless you get an o2 sensor simulator

How do o2 sensor simulators work? do you still keep the actual o2 sensor hooked up or do you replace it with this?
I have had a carsound cat installed for about 5 months and the cel just came on the other day, and i bet its because of the cat(though i havent checked yet).
