Default temperture back and forth, help

hey guys, i have a 01 gsr, and the problem is when i stop at a light or something, my temperture goes up, about 60-70%, but when i drive off again, it goes back to nomral, can anyone help me? thanks in advance

change your thermostat, and Temperature sending unit for the gauge cluster..while your at it..you should also change your temperature sensor for the ECU

Or you can check your coolant level and fans for proper operation.
