Default temp runnin high

new to da always had a civic .....my car runs fine but as soon as im stoped for a min or two the car starts to run hott....i neva hear the fan turn on ...could it be a blown fuse? need help asap

if the fan isn't turning on, the fuse is a good thing to check as well as make sure all your connections are tight.

I'd say most likely it's your thermostat. It's easy to replace and sounds like it's overdue in your case.

the fan is hard wire straight to the battery ...the ground wasnt connected so i conneted it and teh fan went on.......would it turn off by its self if i let it go for a while?

If it doesn't turn off then it's your switch.

if its hardwired straight to the battery then the thermostat would have no control over it therefore it wont turn off on its own

Hell, I usually just hardwire it to a key operated accessory so that it turns on with the car and turns off with the car.
