Suspension question
I am new to honda-tech and I was wondering what you guys think is a good suspension setup for a 98 gs-r? I have heard tein are good, are they worth the $, thanks for the help.

Honestly if your shocks are still good there's no sense in removing them.
Just get race springs. I had neuspeed race on my ITR and they were superb.
They left about an inch or two of wheel gap so the car handled like it was on rails
but it could still turn. When they did the lazer alignment on it it was totally spec.
No need for camber correction kit or anything.
After about a year my shocks started to wear out because of shock travel issues but i was planning on just replacing with used oem type r shocks.
Definitely the way to go for tight race type suspension on the cheep.

TEINS are definently worth it. They may cost quite a bit more but they will give you a ride like none you have ever dreamed. My friend just got some teins on his car and they are bad ***, you will notice a huge difference, I just got skunk2 coilovers, tokico shocks, and sprint camber kit which is a pretty good set up that will run ya about 800, but if you want to spend a little more say around 1400 or so I would definetly go with teins.

Racer not taking anything away from your setup its nice.
Teins are also very very very bad ***. IMHO the best you can get.
Still if he is looking to get a very tight setup just changing up to neuspeed race
springs with stock shocks will improve handling by like 7 gazillion % for only a couple hundred dollars. Just stay away from neuspeed sport springs or other brands. Its not the same thing although H&R might make a tight spring...
I'm not sure.

My friend paid like 1200 for the Teins and they are ONLY ride hieght adjustable (yes i know they mamke adjustable dampning also but his weren't those)
For 800 i can get koni yellows w/eibach springs andGC adjustable collars. Right there you save 400 over Tein you have the ride height adjsuatbility, the dampening adjustability BUT no Bling factor. Personally i'm glad i bought the gc/koni setup because i can rape his turbo civic w/ my stock gsr in ANY corner even w/ the same tire combos.

- yes replacing the springs will give you much better handling, but when i just had my coilovers and my stock shocks i was experencing a really bouncy ride, (I heard that it might pre-machurly wear out the stock shocks once you get it lowered but im to sure about that) but once i replaced the shocks with the tokicos the ride was a lot less bouncy. I dont know if this was just because of my set up that made it so bouncy but with just the colivers and stock shocks it was a rather bouncy ride.

Yeah thats true but with the neuspeed race springs the ride is NOT bouncy at all.
It is tight.
