Stuttering on cold start
So everytime I go start my car in the morning (cold start), on my way to work, it starts up fine, but as soon as I put it in gear and slip the clutch out to get going, the entire car shudders, but mainly coming from the engine. As the engine warms up, the shuddering goes away. This only happens on cold starts. Any ideas on what could be the problem? It only started doing this recently. I have a little over 77k on the car and I have yet to take it in for maintenance since I disabled the light 2k miles before.
Check you spark plug wire... i haed the exact same problem... an when i check mine the number 3 Cylinder was friggin rusted an there was no lithium grease left.. the after i changed mine... it went awaywell you also check your plugs cap an rotor well that just my 2 cents
great. thanks for the response. I actually bought new spark plugs and was thinking that that may be the problem. I'll change them out and check the wires and hopefully all will be solved from there.
same thing happened to me this week. cleaned the contacts inside the distributor cap and gave the rotor a little touch with some 400 grit sandpaper, and POW. The new parts are on order, but it worked in the short term...for free!
