Default stroke 'n bore!!

can some1 please explain to be about stroked and bored out an engine? I kno stroke is for increasing displacement, and bore is enlarging the block piston wall (is it?). Let say i have a b16a2, and wanting to increase the displacement to 1.8, what do i have to do? also, does gsr crank fit in b16 block? btw, sorry for the noob questions

buy a GSR block.

You'll **** up the rod/stroke ratio if you do that kind of ghetto rigging by mixing up the cranks like that.

I doubt you will want to spend 2300 bux on a Toda stroker kit either, and you still wont be able to rev it high.

hehe, it was just a thought, but u turned it down thanx tho. One more ?, does obd1 and obd2 blocks different? i think the head is the b*tch that determine the ecu type right? let say i have a obd1 b16a1 head, can i somehow convert it into obd2 by swappin the distributor or something?

Get your block resleeved and bore it 84mm-86mm, that will give you 1.8L and not screw up any geometry.

A bigger crank ( ) doesn't increase displacement anywhere what a bigger bore does.

if you're going to bore at all might as well go 2.0l

or just get a b18c block and go from there

Boring->increases displacement.
Stoking-> increases displacement and puts more stress on your sleeves/piston rings and lowers your redline.

This will allow you to play with sizing:
