Default Steering Issues...Help wanted.

OK, A friend of mine has a 1994 LS integra, and he hit a pot hole and all hell broke loose. The sway bar broke, the airbags deployed crazy crazy!!! Anyways, he drove around like an idiot for 6 months with a sway bar that was completly broken in half. Couple months ago he took off the sway bar and didnt replace it, and now when hee turns the car doesnt always respond. He will start to turn and the car just wont turn, so he keeps turning and finally it will start to turn. It doesnt jerk, it will just turn normal. Very dangerous. What is the deal? Sway bar wouldn't be it would it? Tie Rods? Anyone else have this problem?

Have the front end inspected. An alignment will indicate damage beyond the sway bar. No front sway bar usually improves traction but increases the tendency to oversteer.

i would check, the inner tie rods and possibly the rack and pinion, the sway bar does exactly what is says it does it will keep your car from swaying while cornering, it will cause some issues with driving though but not steering, but i think the rack and pinion could be slipping, turn the wheels with the car jacked up and pull the boot back on the inner tie and see if the socket is loose and look for broken metal or shaving.
