Hey i got a 2000 ls and for the past few weeks, i'd go to start my car in the morning before school and it doesnt want to start. i have to crank it for a good 5 seconds until it starts. After its started, it bogs for a little bit and then goes up to 1500 - 2000 rpms on a cold engine. It only does this in the morning or of the car has been sitting for a while. With a semi-warm/warm engine, it starts right up with no problems at all. About a month ago i drove through heavy rain with my cai (slow of course) and it died and i was wondering if that had anything to do with it. Checked the oil and all other fluids and theyre all good. It seems to take longer and longer each day to start. Mods include: cai, skunk2 im, iridium ngk plugs and wires. I am going to test my compression next week to see if all my valves and rings are ok from the water. Does anyone know what could be causing my car to do this? Thanks for any help.

sounds like it could be a few things. compression, air leak, head gaskets, rings. hard to diagnose. i had someone professional cheak mine out and they said it was my oil rings and that i needed a re build, i ended up blowing the engine on the freeway month or more later and getting a new engine
