Default Starting Problem

Situation: 2001 GSR, hasnt been started since last friday the 3rd of September. Sat inside my garage due to hurricane/vacation.

Problem: Tried to start car, accessory lights come on but car wouldnt even attempt to start. Alarm still had enough juice to work, next morning car is completely dead.

Attempt to fix: Jumper cables, hooked up to full battery and tried to start. Failed attempt every time.

Help: Dead battery? Its still the original factory battery from 2001 or whenever the car left the factory. Bad Starter? Never had a problem with it..

Help me out guys..

did the started even click? did you check the signal wire to the starter? mine popped off the other day for no reason. if that is good, maybe the solonoid is bad, try beating on the starter some. try putting the good battery in the car, and not using jumper cables on your old one, somtimes they are so bad that it wont work at all. Also, you could have a starter kill on the alarm that is acting screwy, hold down the valet switch as you turn the key, that may help. good luck

unless that tegs been beaten tha crap outta the past 3 yrs, i'm gonna say its the battery cuz batterys only last on average 2.5yrs anyways! you should be fine!...btw, they do have a new 51 series optima for our vehicles, part #D51R its a special order though!

yea i found the 51r for like 140 or so, im gunna get one tonight...

but if the car was beaten on, which i was told it was..what else could be wrong with it?

(dont flame me for buying a beat up car, i bought it for the exterior condition mostly because im rebuilding and replacing everything anyway)

I have a similar problem on my 01 Integra. When I leave my alarm on, my car won't start the next time I try to start it up. The car doesn't crank but the electronics of the car all work and the alarm is still armed, so I don't know what the problem is. BTW, I just replaced the battery with a new Optima -paid 120 for it. Any ideas?-Thanks
