when I get my car to start the starter makes a crazy loud sound, what does this mean? its fairly new starter but does this mean its shot?

 

What kind of sound, like its getting stuck on the flywheel, not retracting?

 

maybe, i dont really know, i never heard a sound like that before..

 

was it new, used, rebuilt? where did you get it from? got a warranty?

 

new from napa, no warranty but i dont mind getting a new one, i just wana make sure thats the only problem is the starter..

 

Its hard to say, it may be a bad starter, worn flywheel, not really sure what to tell you without looking at it.

 

Are you sure its the starter making the noise?

 

the car is having starting problems and it sounds like it coming from there when i look at it, I just had the flywheel resurfaced and the car was just boosted like a month ago..should i just start at replacing the starter..

 

any suggestions? start with replacing the starter? has anyone ever heard of the starter making a crazy noise though because i never heard of that before..

 

are both the bolts torqued down, a bolt may have come loose.

 

ill check that tommarow, im pretty sure they are but ya never know..
