Default standard to Automatic

I have a 92 RS integra, and need to know what it would take to switch the car to automatic

Ive got the whole automatic motor swap

Motor,Trans,Ecu, Automatic Shifter,Auto Radiator

And would things like the Clutch Sensor and standard Car Wiring Harness get in the way also?

Buy an auto car. You would need the auto ECU, the under dash and engine wiring harness, the brake switch is probably different to send the signal to the shifter. It's just too much to do with the auto ECU and wiring things

The shifter has a couple of plugs on it. And he auto ECU things depend on the year. A Civic may not have the ECU, I have seen a DC converted to auto from manual. I did a auto to manual swap in my old DA though and there is the auto tranny ECU and associated under dash wiring.

I've never actually tried obviously, but I'm pretty positive just from going the other way and seeing the things that I pulled out and were they went and connected to that its definately not worth it.

well ive done the Standard to Auto conversion on a standard motor to replace the blown auto one

add all i had to do was replace the trans, headers, and intake manafold and driverside motor mount with those on the automatic motor

so im sure its not any differant to swap them backwards, all id have to do is

cut a hole for the automatic shift linkage

Dont do it!!! If you want an automatic car just buy one that comes auto. I went through the headache of switching my 92 DA from auto to manual. The shop i took it to messed up so bad that i spent close to 5 grand on top of the swap just to fix what they screwed up on. Just trust me man its not worth the headache!!!!!!!

well im not doing the auto to manual, im doing from manual to automatic, and i've done ton's of swaps on manual civics, and integra's

i can't see why you can do the same with an automatic motor, all the real difference is the trans shifts for ya

i've got everything i need for the swap, and i can do custom work if needed for the shif linkage, and "IF" i have to, i'll pull the harness from an automatic at the junkyard...THERES TONS THERE

I need to know if its "possible" to just do a few mods to the car to make it automatic.

other then bypassing the clutch sensor, and custom cutting and welding the shifter area

i see no reason why this wont work. and i can find a way to bypass a brake pedal sensor. (this is what they do for remote start)

so if anyone has any experience trying this, tell me. Sll others who say buy another car, don't bother posting!!!!!

theres no doubt in my mind youll be able to do it. it propably wont be much harder than an auto to manual swap. but will it be worth it? i doubt it seeing as how you can get one with auto for less money.

There is no metal fabrication needed the, auto shifter consol bolts into the stock location and the trans mounts are the same on the da9 not the same for a dc2, Make sure you ecu is from a 92 93 however

Thanks Monkeyfr8

And for everyone who thinks an automatic car is cheaper, "what the f#@$ are you smoking", an automatic car is considered a "Luxury car" since you don't have to shift the gears.

you can find an slandered 95 Integra around here for $4500, and the automatic model for more then $6000(this was taken from a used acura car dealership)

yeah, i looked at about 1500 for an automatic to manual. I'd say atleast that for a swap the other way. You'd be much better off selling it, or teaching the woman to drive a stick lol
