Default squeaky shocks?

ive got Tein HA's on my '94 gsr, and i think it's coming from them, but there's a really bad squeaking noise, sorta like a bed during sex (only sound that comes to mind when trying to describe it) anyway, does anyone know what it could be? im about to just spray wd40 all over the car, engine bay, and everywhere i possibly can cuz its really getting annoying

Are you sure its the shocks and not something in the interior, IE seatbelt buckle, seat, etc?

nah its clearly coming from somewhere on the outside of the car but near the engine bay... it may be like somewhere under the dash near the firewall or somethin, idk

I dont know about Teins enough to know their assembly, but when I dropped mine, my camber kit (front) had new bushings and I didn't grease some metal plate well enough on the bushing. I greased it and squeak went away.

Does it squeek on a slight move or only on bumps? If it squeeks in slight move have one of your friend shake the car while you're checking the engine bay.

I often gat a squeak from the 2 camber kit bolts under the hood by where the shocks bolt in.. I think there a 18 mm bolts, and they loosen just a little bit and I get a squeak when the car bounces over a bump.

My roomate had some squeaking in his 93 hb and it was the same bolts too..

Hope this helps

Like i said to begin with, lube the bushing anyhow. cuz that solved it for me and just about everyone else

if it persists, then we'll see whats up

i have the same problem....i've found wrenchin' the **** outta those two camber bolts along with a lot of silicone spray works for a while (don't use WD40-it's petroleum based and will eat rubber)

as far as a long term fix.....i dunno what else to do?!?!

My upper control arm bushings are what's causing my squeaks. Is there any way to lube these and what do you use?

My squeeking from the front end was caused by the rubber insert that is in between the spring and the top cup, replaced them and COVERED them in grease... no more squeeeeeeks.

yep lots of times the tophats will squeak....chances are thats what it is, if theres no leaks from the shocks, just put some grease btw the rubber tophat bushing and the spring, should do the trick

not the "tophat" itself, the rubber bushing that is inside it, that the spring touches, they squeak sometimes, why would you have a tophat with no rubber bushing??
