Squeaking from the distributor...
Alright guys and gals...I have this squeaking noise coming from my distributor. My guess is its not getting the oil from the engine that lubes the bearing in it. Does that sound like a correct diagnoses?? If so, would the fact that its missing the 2 bottom bolts that hold the distributor on cause this?? Thanks for the help...
Umm.....so only one bolt is holding it in place? Get those other bolts in there like PlastikOwl, otherwise squeaking will be the least of your worries soon.
Squeaking, your distributor might be getting old, at least the parts. Check the condition of the cap and rotor. If those are good.....you might need a new entire unit.

Could be something rubbing down in the CYP & TDC sensors. Take the distributor off & spin the shaft to see if it turns nice & smooth. You'll have to figure out whether it's the rotor rubbing on the cap, or the sensors, or the bearing.
