Default Squeaking coming from engine

Hi H-T

Today I changed my valvecover to a new one and now when I start my car I have this squeaking from my engine. When I take out my dipstick it sounds like pressure being released and the sound is gone. Then I put it back in and a few seconds later it starts to squeak again until I take out the dipstick. The squeaking also seems to go away when I step on my clutch pedal. But when I release the clutch pedal or gas it, the engine starts to squeak again. The squeak is very loud and I am irritated by it because it hasn't happened until now.

Help and suggestions please. Thank you

i think a squeek that goes away when you push the clutch is a throw out bearing. It's at least a palce to start

it could be your timing belt rubbing against your new valve cover.

hmm. I will check that out. But whats up with the pressure building up where the dipstick is? Once I pull the dipstick out I hear the air pressure drop. Then once I put it back in the squeaking will come back.

wht kind of vavle cover did you get? Did you replace the all the gaskets for the valve cover? Hondabond the gaskets? Did you forget to plug anything in the valve llike the breather line that goes to your intake? Pull the valve cover off, re-check your gaskets, and make sure you didn't drop anything in to the valvetrain area. if it still there, put your old valve cover back on. Aftermarket valve covers are overrated...LOL

Another oem painted gsr one. i used my old gasket because it was it looked like it was still in good condition. No rips or anything. I used some sort of silicone thing from Kragens (red rtv). I did all the areas next to each cam gear. so 8 all together. I will pull the cover tomorrow and check it.

Any other help or ideas would be great.

Haven't had the chance to pull the VC yet but the squeaking comes after my car is warmed up and idling. I press the clutch a little and the squeaking goes away.

Buy a new VC gasket and Spark plug hole gaskets. it should come as a complete package. I heard that once a gasket is used, it is no gooder no more. Bottom line, don't re-use gaskets. How does the car perform? Any radical idling? Poor acceleration? Is the squeaking loud?

Car still feels like it did before. No drops or increases in idling. Acceleration seems to be a little slower. Squeaking is loud. Sounds like its coming from my driver side because I put my ear near my front wheel well and it was the loudest there.

spray a little belt spray on you belts. that should fix your problems. It is your belts. if you hear it from there the most head on out to auto zone, or you local auto shop and pick up some belt dressing. Wheel well= belts.

When I turn off my car I hear it slowly squeaking away then it dies out. I will get some belt spray after class today.
