Default sqeaky sound coming from the suspension

Guys I have a 99 gsr and I have the ground control coilover conversion kit w/ illumina shocks and ingalls camber kit for the front. Prior to this modification the ex owner of the car put springs that slamed the car and never changed the shocks or installed a camber kit. That resulted in negative camber like crazy. Well after installing the new suspension im getting this squeaky sound coming from the suspension in the front. Has anyone ever had this problem and how was it fixed?

My GC's started a squeak today. It's coming from the top of the strut tower. I'll post if I find out what it is exactly. Right front.

My car's previous owner did THE SAME THING!! He didn't do his research, just wanted to be cool I guess. I got stuck learning the hard way, but, hey, gotta learn somehow.

Try to bounce your car from a corner. If that corner keeps bouncing, the shock(strut) is bad.

The purpose of the spring is to hold up the car, but a spring transfers energy, and will bounce forever (not really, but you know what I mean). A damper is used (shock/strut) to turn that energy into heat by moving a piston with small orifaces (orifi?) through a fluid, so your spring (and car) stops bouncing.

Alright, the squeak on mine is from the top of the spring. I jacked it up, and noticed the top few coils are rubbing together, like my old springs that were shot. Well, I checked the other side, and those are too, but with no noise. I shot some graphite on the spring itself, where it was rubbing, to see what effect that had, and also pulled down the spring so it was resting on the threaded perch, and shot the urethane spring seat on the top as well. No change. I am thinking that it's coming from the top of the urethane seat, between the seat and the metal hat that's connected to the top of the shock. I'm trying to remember if that can be popped out without removing the hat, since the spring can be pulled down to the threaded perch. I'll hit that area next with the graphite, and see what happens. I might post a pic or 2 in a sec. not sure.

Your springs look fine dude. If you want that squeek to go away permanently, swap out your Ingalls Camber kit. Just do a search using "squeek & Ingalls".

Mine squeek so bad, on all 4 corners.... I just got use to them, and hardly knowtice the squeeks.

I don't have an Ingalls camber kit. Is it similar to mine? Can you tell what type I have?!

It's Intrax. I'd never get one like this again, nor recommend it to others. I'd recommend the type that replaces the upper control arm.

Offset in the anchor bolts. Mine were fabricated because the original piece didn't correct enough. My Dad welded the oem piece to the offset piece for more throw.

I took out the spring assy. today and pulled down the urethane bushing and used the grease that came with my Energy Suspension set to lube it top and bottom. Seemed to help at first, but I think once everything settled, it came back. Will have to see with a few more miles.

I'll throw on a pic to show what I mean.

I'll try to hit those offsets in the camber kit with some graphite, but with the spring assy out I moved the entire suspension up and down and it was silent, except for the upper control arm hitting a piece of wheel well plastic that I should pull out. I don't know why I didn't when I was under there.

I'm not familiar with the Ingalls. Is it like the Intrax one I have, where it changes the anchor bolts? I'm talking about the front, don't know if an aftermarket kit on the rear is similar.

My front squeaks when I pull out of my driveway and the front gets to the road after I back out. I have Skunk2 coilovers & Koni reds, no camber kit.

I put grease between the metal washer and rubber piece on the top of the strut and it got rid of my squeek...
