Default spoon or rota

this is a stupid question but how can you tell the difference between the two rims just by looking at it. the spoons right have the sp388 engraved on them right? if anyone can post a pix of it i would really appreciate it

I think the Spoon's say Spoon or something like that on the rim. Also, the Rota's probably say Rota on them as well.

Sorry, no pics. Ask in the ITR Forum. A lot of them have them. Good luck!

spoons are flat black while rota's are more glossy. and the holes beside the lugs are shaped different on the rotas.

the Rotas have a stamp in the metal on one of the spokes and have extra holes between lugnuts and the Spoons dont

spoon wheels will say desmond inside the rim and made in russia behind the spoke. rotas will not have these stickers and are not made in russia. spoons are not glossy like someone else said. rotas look painted. its not hard to spot a fake. and they do not say spoon or sp388 or sw388.

he asked if you could tell the difference just by looking at them.

..just by looking at them you can tell the rotas from the spoons.
you'll need a good educated stare, but it's definitely possible.
I have the black slipstreams and when they're covered with brake dust, the coloring looks just like the spoons (not exactly, but yeah). ..but when they're all cleaned up you can definitely tell they're rotas.
