Solid CEL after chip testing...
I pulled the Mugen PR3 program chip from my ECU and plugged it into my Willem chip programmer. I plugged it into my computer and it was able to read the data from the chip, however, turboedit wasn't able to pull up the maps reguarly like some other progams wouldn't. So I didn't think anything of it and plugged in the chip back into the ECU, fire up the car, I get a solid CEL. What gives?
Could I have damaged the chip somehow? Possibly the programmer bombed it somehow?
The chip is a 27c256. I know it isnt reprogrammable, and i didnt see a UV deal on it to erase the data. So the only way to mess the chip up is a short or some other screwiness? Someone fill me in hehe.
I just wanna know if the ECU is going to be ok and if I could just replace the chip. Thanks

Try using another, fresh chip. I got a CEL when I pulled a chip out of my p72 and tried to run it again with that same chip. The chip must have been what was bad because I obtained another chip that didn't throw a code.
Cool. I have another chip coming, but I hope it's not the ECU. Funny how I just took it out and plugged it right back and it screwed it up.
