hey guys i just wanna ask and wonderin if it is normal to smell some burn rubber on your car after running 10-20 miles on the freeway ??? It only happens once in a while to my car not all the time (like 1 or twice a month)...Any help/answer will appreciate.. Thanxxx

 

ive never had it happen......is your car lowered, and if so, is there a grove wearing in the middle from the fender seam or anything weird like that?

my car is not too low anymore i raise it up 1 1/2 inch so it should be fine now as u can see it on my biography theres a pic of my car there ....
and no my tires is not rubbing anything else but the road...

 

this actually just happened to me, i drive a 96 prelude si. when i did my oil change somehow i put a small hole in my oil filter and oil was dripping onto my header causing it to burn and smell. might not be your problem just thought i'd help.

 

whats the condition of your catalyctic converter?

i have a straight pipe and whe i run it hard i get the burnt plastic rubber type of smell for a while.

also are you sure its not the smell of your brakes?

well my cat conv. is okay.. and plus my car dont leak any oils or coolant.. its just like burning rubber or like wut u said its a brake, coz my girl said it smells like coming from the bottom of the car when u stepped out she smelled it and i dont really smell any tho... and no she not crazy... hahaha lol .... and yea it smells too after i rev up but not spinning the tires....

i was gonna say maybe ur brakes, but i guess not. My brakes smelled like something burning the first few days after installing em.
