sliding timming belt on
im changing my timming belt and i get it all together and now im at the point where you put the belt around the crank, tensioner, water pump, cam gear, but the damn thing doesnt want to slide on, its too short, i have the tensioner loosened, is there any tricks or tips to making this step any easier? i've been wrestling with this belt for an hour and my arms are tired. im going to go back at it tomarow after im well rested. so any helpful hints would be apreciated, thanks

First. Are you sure its the right belt?
Second. Sometimes its easier to slightly rotate the cam sprocket so they line up better with the teeth on the belt to slide them on. Just make sure they stay aligned as you do this. Of course, you have to put the belt on the crank, tensioner, and water pump first and do the cams last.

When you get to the point where your going to put it on the cams start with the exaust cam. Then get all the slack out of the belt and tensioner by pulling up on the intake cam side of the belt. That should make it a little easier for yuz.
