Default Skunk2 test pipe ?

Hey guys, my buddy just bought a skunk2 test pipe for his ITR and theres a whole that can be plugged in the test pipe with a so called bung plug...anyway I can't really explain why the whole would be there if its suppose to restrict more exhaust flow. He's just wondering if it needs to be plugged when hes driving and takeing his car to the track or if it doesn't matter?

needs to be on there for sure, you can just plug it, but it might throw a code depending on what OBD the car is.

omni power makes an adapter to cancel out the check engine light on OBD-II cars. i just picked one up from king motorsports.
